It is Takeru, now old, who provides the key to Anemos. Zol itself will only rise so far, but there is a peculiar alloy, difficult to make, that could take them to the city in the sky. He brings them word of the material, and introduces them to a man who can make and shape it.
---
Anemos comes as a shock. Its architecture is all they had dreamed, all they had imagined, graceful arches and floating spires, seemingly made of the wind itself. But the very land is grey, deteriorating, empty. After several days they conclude that it was affected by a major Psynergy Vortex, and depart sadder but no wiser.
Sheba never truly seems happy, after that.
---
Somehow, a burial doesn't seem right. She was too much Wind to fit under the ground. But he's unable to come up with anything that feels better, and some of the others specifically want a burial, so her body goes into the ground.
Felix hides himself away from the world. It is a long time before he can bear to come out.
---
Everything changes. Always.
This is the hardest lesson Felix has ever had to learn. In the long view - which is what he has to use, now - even the earth isn't solid or stable. Even after the Golden Sun's upheavals are over with, the land still fluxes, quakes, creeps... changes.
And no matter how many friends he outlives, how many countries he outlasts, how much power he can command - the world is always going to be greater than Felix.
DD spoilers, although not of central plotpoints. 2/2
