Golden Sun kink meme, round 2.

Well, the old one has served us well, but it's two years old there's a new game out and hopefully this will bring in a whole bunch more activity.

the usual rules apply.
-The only wank with want is the sexy kind. Leave pairing wars, name wars, and kink wankery at the door, please.

-one request per comment.

-not everyone has played Dark Dawn yet, so make sure to label anything with spoilers in the title of the comment.

-you can use the Japanese names and pairing names when making requests, but make sure you put the English names in parentheses for those who aren't in the know about them.

-if you prefer Japanese names, you can stipulate in your request that you'd prefer them, or fill with them.

-a list of kinks to get you started.

-there's no limit on requests at the moment, but the meme will die out if no one fills too, so in general there's a big suggestion of 'if you can, fill for request you make.' However we know that not everyone is a writer or artist, so if you're just here to read, then don't think you can't make requests too.

-just because this is a kink meme doesn't mean PG-13 and under fics can't come play too.

A new posting rule applies. If you want to fill out an old request from the past meme, copy it over and fill it here, but leave a comment at the old meme, so if the op has it tracked, they can find it again.

Love this, it was so cute! Favourite part: Nothing was as profound as he found that moment of knowing, of discovering just the fact he needed. And now, he knew the steps to take, if not the words to say.

...more plz?

Another not!OP loved this, and would really like to request at least a little of what happens next. As sweet and dreamlike as it is to see those two lose touch with the context and the consequences, considering the time and the place, anon has a feeling the fallout could be even more fun... Not least as this anon has a thing for context and attitude and consequences and such, especially when they come crashing down.

"Wait, she ran off trying to shack up with Piers?"

A near-unanimous "ewww" went up from the people who had met Nowell.

"You said your sister was crazy," sputtered Tyrell. "Now I believe it!"

Matthew didn't say anything, but looked like he might be ill.

"Ew, isn't he, like... way old?" exclaimed Karis. "From what I've heard, he's even more touchy about his age than old people are! No offense to present company," she added, and Kraden shrugged amiably. "Seriously, though, he's like a million years old, even if he doesn't age like it!"

"That hardly slowed her mother down any," Kraden mused.

Horrified silence descended upon the ship's cabin as the implications of this statment and how Kraden would know such a thing settled in.

"It's so quiet all of a sudden," Kraden noted. "Was it something I said?"

Matthew excused himself to the privy. Tyrell suddenly developed an uncontrollable twitch in his right eyebrow.

"He's... he's joking, right, Rief?" sputtered Karis. "You're not... he's not..."

"About what?" asked Rief.

"Great," mumbled Eoleo. "Just great. The wrinkly old guy gets to rock the boat with the Angel of Imil, and I still can't get a girl to give me the time of day."

Himi replied, "It's hard to tell time in such darkness."

At the same time, Sveta said, "It's a quarter 'til sunset, not that it matters in this."

"That's not what I meant!"

Amiti, of all people, looked strangely relieved by this revelation. "At least now it won't seem half as strange, no matter who my father turns out to be..."

"Great," mumbled Eoleo. "Just great. The wrinkly old guy gets to rock the boat with the Angel of Imil, and I still can't get a girl to give me the time of day."

And that's where not OP lost it. Well played, anon. Well played.

OP of the original Alex/Babi request here. I actually read this as it was being posted, but I couldn't think of anything to say.

I won't lie to you and say that this what was I was expecting. It doesn't matter because I agree with the above anon. This is amazing. It really is. I just. Wow. It's just chilling and makes a horrifying sort of sense. While the whole thing is written wonderfully, it was the little details that really got to me. For example, "Babi paused to stroke the boy's free arm, letting his hand linger over his slender little wrist." I shuddered the first time I read that.

...I'm sorry, I'm always so bad at these kind of things. I hope this doesn't come off as some bizarre backhanded compliment. D:

Thanks so much for the feedback, both of you. I had no idea whether this is the sort of thing people would generally read and think "whaaat the fuck kind of repugnant person writes this kind of rapefic", or "this is a chilling horror fic saying something I agree with about violence", but it would have stuck in my head either way until I got it down, and getting the latter kind of feedback didn't seem half as likely, so, yeah... thank you.

If you don't mind my asking, did any of the dark jokes work, or was it all horror? (I mean, I know dark humour *is* horror genre, but the latter isn't always the former.) And if this isn't what you imagined from the prompt, what kind of thing were you picturing? (I don't mind smutty fictional non-con, but I didn't get that kind of plotbunny for this one, and I'm curious what other ideas are floating around.) Btw, I kinda know how a couple of extra scenes would go, in-between in the timeline; could try to get them fleshed out fairly soon as well if you're interested (though they're not hurting my brain as much as the stuff above; might not be quite as quick to get them typed up, but they might be an easier read?)

Re: above comments

(Anonymous) 2011-09-15 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
ah, btw, should maybe clarify, when I say that this didn't feel like "smutty fictional non-con" to write, I mean by that definition where in thoroughly fictional stuff, non-con = doesn't want it but ends up enjoying it and rapefic = doesn't want it and hates it. 'steamy' might have been a better word than 'smutty' to emphasise the distinction. gonna stop rambling now, it's late... ><

(Alex/Babi OP again)

I read over it several times and I'm thinking "I really want to give some sort of in-depth feedback for this," but I could never figure out just what to say. So...ta-da. :/

As for the dark jokes, I chuckled a couple of times, yes. I was probably far more amused when Alex said "That happens sometimes" than I should have been.

Oh no no no. I wasn't expecting any smutty non-con or anything. Not at all. XD I don't really go for non-con and Babi's just pretty much a (girl)-boner killer on every level. What I thought was going to happen was...um, well... I thought the fill was going to be a dark comedy in which Alex sexes up Babi until Babi can't handle anymore. Hence, Babi dying when he did.

...I have the mind of demented twelve-year-old, okay? Still, that wouldn't have made sense with the criteria, because Kraden isn't involved. But, uh, probably for the best it didn't end up like I was expecting. >_>

When you say extra scenes, what are we talking about? I'm intrigued.

Okay, wow. Rereading this, I realize I'm coming off as a total jackass. I'm sorry, writer anon.

Re: above comments

(Anonymous) 2011-09-16 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, don't worry, you're not coming across badly. (I mean, if you can take my word for it.) I'm glad that line made you laugh; you couldn't have been more amused than Alex there.

Totally with you about Babi's inherent appeal. I'll probably be all "Die! Die! Die!" towards him every time I replay the canon, now, but this was only building off my existing opinion of him. (Oh, yeah, in my headcanon about this, he never touched Sheba; he was too old and tired by the time he started in on Lalivero. And Mia never really met him until the game. Alex got reeeally unlucky.) Your dark comedy version would be pretty twisted too; anything can be written all kinds of ways, though I don't think I could picture that one unless someone else filled it. :3

Re: the extra stuff; a bit in Imil that removes the ambiguity about what happened to Alex and Mia's family, and then a bit where Kraden and Alex talk after getting out of Sol Sanctum.

(The only bit that makes a horrible sort of sense to me which wouldn't be covered by then would be the rest of Alex's stuff with the Proxians; telling Karst and Agatio at Jupiter Lighthouse that he wouldn't dream of asking for their thanks because he still thinks that's a horrible thing to do, being more comfortable travelling with people he doesn't care about because they can't be used against him, etc, but I guess sort of thing might come across already.)

Ah, I know how it is to worry after glancing over a posted comment again; last time I was all "wait what technically counts as smutty, there's a lot of graphic detail there, oh shit I hope I haven't offended anyone..."

Glad to see there's a bit of activity round the meme; if you're wondering about feedback too, btw, I'm right about to go away for the weekend, but I'll probably be doing a bunch of reading next week. :D

Very late OP of this prompt has the same struck-speechless problem as the previous commenter. This is really GOOD while horrifying in that deadpan sort of way, and the fact that Kraden sounds very IC and this does make a lot of sense with Alex make it both even better and even worse. I was mostly joking when I made that prompt and didn't really expect a fill, much less a serious one, let alone something like this, but anon: my sincere thanks, this was an amazing read. And if your brain is still getting eaten, I would definitely be interested in seeing extra scenes, especially the talk between Alex and Kraden.

----

It looks like it’s empty.

Felix gave a quick glance to both sides. All of the dwarves nearby were far too occupied with their own conversations to notice him.

He had to be quick.

As quietly as he could, he placed his hand on the back hatch of the cannon. It was wider and rounder at the base than at the spout, and Felix couldn’t help but admire the craftsmanship of the machine. He was tempted to take the glove off his hand to caress the material with his own fingertips, but he suppressed the urge.

The hatch opened with a small squeak, and Felix gently pulled it open – first by slipping in one finger through the opening as he pulled, then two, and then more until his whole hand was in. He opened just enough so that it was ready to take what he was about to put in.

Felix glanced around once more. The dwarves still hadn’t noticed him. Good.

Quickly, he pulled out the mythril sack. With the absence of the elemental star, the sturdy sack was good for carrying many other precious and potentially dangerous items. For this task, he had entrusted the sack to hold something else very important – the Magma Ball.

Felix supported the bottom of the sack against the palm of his hand. Through the material he could feel the heat of the ball. It throbbed and pulsed within. His hand began to sweat inside his glove.

He decided to waste no more time. With a grunt, he emptied his sack into the chamber. He grabbed the handle and closed the door as quickly and quietly as he could. He felt himself let out a breath that he didn’t realize that he was holding.

He glanced around again. To his amazement, still nobody had noticed him. He thought that if his actions hadn’t caught the attention of those around him, the sound of the pounding of his heart would.

Taking in another deep breath, he leaned forward and placed his shaking hands on the long, hard barrel, before running them down to the thick base.

He closed his eyes and focused his Psynergy. More energy was transferred to the cannon than was meant to.

The cannon shook.

Suddenly the base turned red-hot and burned his hands through his gloves. Felix drew back and hissed. In a moment of panic, he turned and bolted to the right-

Boom.

Release.

The ground shook underneath him, and the sound of the cannon firing drowned out the sound of his heart beating in his ears.

Too soon.

“Is everyone all right?”

His knees felt weak.

***

They got the cannon in the end. The group could now traverse the icy seas of the north, which led to Prox and the last lighthouse.

When they got to a large icy sheet, Felix felt his heart drop into his stomach. Isaac and Garet offered to fire the cannon this time, but he wouldn’t let that happen. This time, he would do it right.

He walked up and approached the cannon. Once again, he laid his hands on cannon’s base, pausing for a moment to close his eyes and take in a deep breath to steady himself.

He felt a hand on his arm. His eyes snapped open and he turned his head to see a small hand on his.

“Sheba?”

Sheba looked at him, closed her eyes, and smiled. “Maybe this time I should help you?”

Idiots

(Anonymous) 2011-09-25 11:18 am (UTC)(link)
He was really just about as subtle as... well, Fire Adepts weren't a subtle lot. And this one was about seven feet tall, with green skin and purple hair, and equally tacky clothes with spikes. Or were those actually attached to him?

"Hi, stranger," Sheba said sarcastically.

Agatio glanced down at her, but didn't seem more than mildly surprised, if at all, that he'd been discovered. Of course, he wasn't particularly trying to hide in the first place. He wasn't dense, he'd proved that in their first meeting.

"Good afternoon," he rumbled noncommitally, looking back at the original object of his attention.

Sheba followed his gaze, and didn't know why she was surprised to find that he was here for the same reasons she was.

Felix. And Karst.

Together.

So close and so rough, curses and shouting and hands and Psynergy glow everywhere, that it was hard to tell if they were fighting or making out. Knowing them, it could very well be either, or both.

"Which of them's causing that burning hair smell?" she asked.

"One set the fire," Agatio replied flatly, "and the other's on fire."

Well, when he put it like that, it seemed really obvious.

At the same time, Sheba tried her hardest to remind herself that if this sort of thing was what Felix wanted in love, abuse and arguments and arson... then Felix was an idiot, and she didn't need to waste her time being silly or jealous over an idiot.

It took a while. She'd fancied Felix so much after that whole Lighthouse thing, after all, and it felt terrible to be realizing only now that she'd wasted her time all along.

"So, do we just watch those two set each other on fire all evening?" she finally asked without thinking. "Or... I dunno... you want to get dinner or something?"

And then her mind caught up with her mouth and she blanched. Had she just... did she just ask Agatio of the Fire Clan to join her for dinner? Unknown years older, way the heck taller, built like a fortress, determined to conquer the world, and did one mention the green skin, scales, spikes, and purple hair yet?

Oh, gods, strike her down.

At least the equally-baffled look on his face was worth it.

So, surprisingly, was the amused smile that followed.

"We could dine together, perhaps."

Agatio looked weird, but he wasn't an idiot like Felix.

- - - - -

(A/N: Yeah, probably didn't even need to bother anoning since I was also in Skype when the Agatio/Sheba ship was launched and dubbed "Awkwardshipping".)

Here's the thing...that's not true for her mother.

The Mason's Lament PART ONE~ vagabond

(Anonymous) 2011-09-25 12:30 pm (UTC)(link)
A man once made his life meaningful as a mason. He built many walls in his lifetime and he loved all of them; some of his favorites he even had names for.

But no wall was more special to him than Katya. She was a beautiful sandstone aggregate mixed with raw stone from the surrounding lands that he had built by hand in Loho. She was young, only 18 years, still as beautiful and unpenetrated by cannonballs as the day she was made. The outer bricks had aged like fine wine, and it was even smoother to the touch than when it was part of the flatlands. Nobody in town touched Katya but the mason; they had far too much respect for the man who had built their humble town from the ground up.

The mason was eating a sandwich and thinking of a poem he would write about Katya when he heard the news of a group of 8 looking for the treasure of Loho. The mason suddenly lost his appetite. He stood up from his barstool in the restaurant he was at and left brusqely, thinking about many things. One of these things was the treasure of Loho, which was, in fact, the thing his precious wall Katya was protecting. He wondered about whether they would try to tear his wall down.

The mason realized that he was crying.

"Hey! Old guy! We're looking for the treasure of Loho and we think we know where it is, but the area's blocked off by a wall. Can you help us knock it down?"

The mason realized that he was no longer crying.

He turned around and saw 8 young men and women of various colors that had followed him as he exited the restaurant. One stepped up.

"Hey! Old man! What are you, deaf?" Felix jeered, holding up his hand in a rude gesture. "Some guy at the dock told us you know about that wall, so help us get to that treasure!"

"You...want to knock down that wall?" the mason said softly.

"Uh, yeah. That's exactly it. You gonna help us out or are you gonna pull at your junk and pretend you're not a hundred?"

The mason spoke flatly. "What if I told you that I would kill you if you did that?"

God when did he learn to bluff like that? Really, he would have to write a book to capitalize on his natural talent someday.

The young man just laughed. "Oh god, you're a REAL tryhard. Please, spare me the one liners. I don't think you know who you're talking to."

The mason seethed with anger. This prick wanted to destroy his finest creation just to get a material object! The nerve of him. The mason chose to omit exactly what kind of object Katya was and instead concentrate on the man and his friends.

Felix shrugged. "Okay, whatever, say your threats, but I still think you're just a Jello sack; I'll be nice and let you watch us blow up the wall without your crusty help. Piers, hold him down.

The tall one of the group stepped forward. "Please sir," he said calmly, "I would rather not have to do anything to discomfort you. Stand there and no harm will come to you." He looked back at Felix. "Is this really necessary?"

"Is it, Ms. Headband?" the mason said. "You're wearing an awful lot of girl clothes for the dumb muscle of the group."

Piers' face hardened. "I see. I suppose Felix was right then. Worry not. If you don't want to stand you can get on your knees. No one's stopping you."
Piers moved with surprising quickness and disabled the mason with a half nelson, his other arm striking behind the knee and putting him one knee on the ground.

Felix nodded. "It will suffice. Garet, get the cannon ready. Ivan, go get the cannonball.

The Ivan nodded happily. "Ivan!" it yelled, wandering off to get the cannonball.

Garet looked at Felix. "I don't know, Felix. What if this guy is different?"

Felix looked at him dumbly. "Why don't you ask Romeo and Juliet what we should do?"

Garet turned around and looked at Isaac, who was only paying attention to one thing right now, and that was Jenna's bra-strap.

"Isaac, should we think about this before we do it?" Garet whined, trying to get his attention.
